I've been happily married to my Husband for 11 years. I'm a fur mommy to a Maltipoo (10) & German Shepherd (1). I was born and raised in LA, and recently moved out to the IE. Although I miss my LA weather, I'm currently loving the peace that the IE has been providing. I am half Mexican and half Salvadorian, and I love both cultures equally. I love Tacos & Pupusas!
How did I become a photographer?
In late 2018, I had a full time job when I got a spark to become a photographer. My friend's husband said to me "Since you love taking so many photos, why don't you become a photographer?" My friend had met two sisters that were photographers and so I started following on social media and just loved the life they displayed and told myself I'd give it a shot. So I reached out to one of the sisters (she's now my mentor) and she was willing to teach me everything. God bless her heart! So I went to school and took 2 photography classes before I started going with her for training. I'd drive almost 2 hours every weekend to go with her to weddings or quinces. They were long days, I'd leave my house between 6am-7am and wouldn't be back until 12am, but I really enjoyed shooting events. And my dream was set to one day become a full time photographer.
After a couple of months of shooting events with my mentor, I finally got the courage to shoot my first paying session which were Mommy & Me mini sessions for Mother's Day 2019. Let me tell you, I learned a couple of lessons from this, but I'll make this a whole other blog. And well fast forward to 2022, this girl right here quit her full time job to become a full time photographer.
Shout out to my hubby for always supporting me. He never said to me "You're gone for too long" or "You spend a lot of money on gear" and for that I'm grateful. They say that behind a successful women, there's a very supportive partner or no partner at all; luckily I was blessed with a very supportive husband.
And well there you have it, a little bit more info about me.
Your favorite photographer,
Teresita
